Mold-Masters Invests Globally in Leading Edge
Manufacturing Technology
Chicago, USA - Mold-Masters has established itself as the clear global leader in
the hot runner industry. In recent months, they have continued to expand their
facilities in Germany, Canada and China.
Mold-Masters’ European headquarters in Baden-Baden, Germany, is presently
undergoing a 25% capacity expansion. New cutting edge manufacturing
technology will fulfill the tremendous increase in market demands. Mold-Masters
has invested in three brand new and highly integrated multi-featured horizontal
machining centers for manifold and hot half manufacturing. The investment also
includes 5-axis CNC multi-tasking machines for nozzle production and various
other machinery including vacuum furnaces and CNC grinding.
“Europe is a critical and growing market. Our investment of over 2M Euro in the last
year has been made to exceed the capacity and delivery expectations of our
customers.” said Jonathon Fischer, President of Mold-Masters.

In March 2005, Mold-Masters opened their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility
in Kunshan, China near Shanghai. This facility is now self sufficient,
manufacturing manifolds, nozzles, hot-halfs and temperature controllers. SAP
has been implemented, along with Lean Manufacturing Initiatives, and ISO9001
certification is being pursued. New capital equipment will be installed by Fall
2006. The level of expertise at the local level has quickly ramped up, and a new
training center will soon be training new workers, while upgrading the skills of
existing employees. |
