Mold-Masters launches Fusion Series® G2 pre-assembled hot runner solution |
October 13, 2009
At Fakuma, Mold-Masters will be introducing the Fusion Series G2 hot runner system – a new and fully pre-assembled hot runner solution ideal for applications such as white goods, automotive, industrial containers, crates and pails.
“We have carefully listened to the market and created a modular and flexible system design that delivers the key features that our customers have asked for”, says Bruce Catoen, VP Marketing, Business and Product Development at Mold-Masters Limited. “With the new Fusion Series G2 we have developed a versatile product solution that delivers more value at a competitive price”, he added.
Drawing lead time for even the most complex systems has been reduced to a maximum of 3 business days. The new systems for large part molding will also be priced at a very competitive level and built to order on a fast delivery schedule. “When we started developing this new system, we always had simplicity and immediate productivity in our mind. Therefore we implemented a high level of standardization while maintaining a great freedom for customization of each individual application”, says Ken Jacob, Project Engineer for the new Fusion G2 product line.
The new and thoroughly tested screw-in style nozzles provide a very consistent and flat heat profile that has been engineered for optimal performance. The design includes the ability to control the heat at each gate independently. This enables for a wider processing window. An extensive range of nozzle lengths and flow channel options provide for an individual system design based on individual customer requirements. Shot sizes start at around 15 grams and range up to 3500 grams per nozzle. Nozzle lengths range from approx. 90 mm to over 1000 mm. The Fusion Series G2 is capable of running any commodity or engineered resins and is available as non-valve gate & valve gate system with various hydraulic and pneumatic actuations options. The valve pin can be removed and returned in exact same location through an innovative contouring design. An anti-rotation mechanism is also available. |

With a uniquely small system profile the Fusion Series G2 minimizes required machining, resulting in overall higher tool integrity. The system also utilizes a new style of wire armor channels for wire routing that enable for easy access and reconfiguration from the outside. The “shadowed” distribution system provides more space for mold components and protects all tubing and electrical wiring. Water and hydraulic fluid both run throughout the distribution channels, which provide additional cooling to the hydraulic fluid. This also results in a longer seal life and reduces maintenance as well as parts cost at the customer’s site. An overall modular design and newly designed, replaceable components enables for an overall easy servicing.
In addition, the Single Point Hook-up for water, hydraulic or pneumatic reduces set-up time and errors as well as improves start-up efficiency. According to Mold-Masters’ “drop-in, connect-and-go” approach all systems are delivered pre-assembled, pre-wired, and ready for installation.
Fusion Series G2 will be launched at Fakuma 2009. Systems are being manufactured and assembled in Baden-Baden, Germany. Mold-Masters has a made clear statement on quick deliveries and access to systems and services for the European market.
